A Simple Way to Concentrate Wine in the Lab

VA Filtration offers their forward osmosis system for purposes of running small concentration trials for as little as 750 ml of wine.  Using a unique forward osmosis pouch that allows water and alcohol from the wine to permeate into the pouch, these units are capable of removing around 80 ml to 100 ml of water and alcohol.  This results in a concentration of approximately 15%.

Alcohol Sweetspot Trials?

Once the wine is concentrated, then by simply adding back the equivalent volume of lost water from the wine, you are able to run Sweetspot alcohol trials.
